Mechanical Engineering N1-N3 Post

Mechanical Engineering N1-N3

What you should know about Mechanical Engineering N1-N3.

Mechanical Engineering is a discipline of engineering that applies the principles of physics and materials science for analysis, design, manufacturing, and maintenance of mechanical systems. It is the branch of engineering that involves the production and usage of heat and mechanical power for the design, production, and operation of machines and tools. Each N level takes place over a minimum of one trimester. After each trimester, students are eligible for a National Certificate on that level.

We recommend continuing through all three levels and doing N4, N5 and N6 in order to qualify for the National Diploma. The National Diploma requires students to work for a minimum of 18 months in the Mechanical field before they are entitled to receive a National Diploma.

Admission Entry Requirements

    • N1 Entry Requirement: Grade 9 (Std 7) Certificate with a pass in Mathematics and Physical Science OR no formal qualification required for everyone 23 years or older.

    • NOTEProceed to next level only when the previous level has been successfully completed i.e. N1 for N2, N2 for N3.

  • Duration
    • 3 Months (Trimester)
    • 6 Months (Semester)

What subjects will I be taking?

  1. Mathematics
  2. Engineering Science
  3. Engineering Drawing
